Tragedi Subuh!

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "And if they only knew what was in the prayers of 'Isha' and Subh [fajr], they would come to them even if they had to crawl." [Agreed upon]

Even the highest profession like phisician, architects have to go for refresher seminars and reviews.  So as a muslim, you’ve internalised this really deep profound thing, where do you get your review?

Through solah. Solah is an opportinity for us to refresh our faith constantly. Solah is a pillar of our faith, and there is no such thing as doing too much to ensure that this pillar stands. But the point is waking up for solatul fajr is a kind of hard. It’s more like a tragedy. Most muslim’s spend their night doing unnecessary things and end up waking in the afternoon the next day.

So, this are few tips that might help you to be the soldier’s of Allah in the early morning!

Know who Allah is: This is the key. If you know Who you’re worshipping, you will make him the first instead of dunya. Set in your mind that  He requests that you get up in the morning and pray to Him, you’ll wake up.

Discipline yourlife: Go to sleep early. Don’t spend the whole night watching movies, hanging aroud with your friends till midnight, watching islamic lectures till 2 a.m in the morning. Give the night life up. Let the night be for sleep. At least you are not accumulating sins every night. At least you are not burying your heart with more sins than what you do during the day. At least you are innocent for that moment. If it’s convinient the to take a nap in the afternoon which is also a sunnah and aids in causing a person to wake up for Fajr.

Wudu before sleep: Ibn Abbas reported that Allah’s Messenger said: “Purify these bodies and Allah will purify you, for there is no slave who goes to sleep in a state of purity but an Angel spends the night with him, and every time he turns over, [the Angel] says, ‘O Allah! Forgive Your slave, for he went to bed in a state of purity.” Do you think that such a person would be left to oversleep and miss fajr?

Sincerity: Be sincere about waking up for fajr, don’t just say to yourself: “InshaAllah, it’ll be nice if I wake up for fajr” be sincere about it, and say: “I will wake up for fajr” I find it useful sometimes to talk to myself about it before going to sleep and say: “I will wake up for fajr, i don’t care how, but I’ll definitely will!” And remember to place your alarm further away than the normal. If you used to put it besides you, make it in the living room.

It has a spiritual impact that only people who go to the masjid can feel it. It cannot be explained by words. When you woke up early, you came to the masjid, you ask for Allah’s forgiveness in that early morning, you recite quran and then you stand beside the other believer and countless army of angels, and you stand in front Allah. The spiritual impact is SubhanAllah. The kind of you wish you can do it everyday. But if only you woke up early and give up your night life! -Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan.
